It has been well-studied in computer vision and image processing with relevant importance in many \ufb01elds ranging from security and surveillance to image generation. Contemporary advances focus on using deep neural networks to tackle these problems. However, most current neural network architectures used for super-resolution continue to be developed by human experts through time-consuming and error-prone trial and error.<br>Nowadays, there is a growing interest in automated neural architecture search methods that allow deep learning to be more accessible to researchers and practitioners. Even with the success of these methods, their application in real-world problems still poses significant challenges, hindering their practicality. In many cases, the synthesized architectures are too complex to be deployed in resource-limited platforms or embedded systems, while architecture discovery requires copious processing time and power. To get around these problems, one solution that started to grow in popularity is to see the process of architecture search as a multi-objective problem, taking into account execution latency, memory footprint, and model performance, among many others.<br>Our research project is the design of a multi-objective neural architecture search hybrid evolutionary algorithm for super-resolution image restoration. Tackling the problem of architecture search from a hybrid multi-objective perspective strives for synthesizing resource-ef\ufb01cient models capable of obtaining a competitive performance in Super-Resolution tasks while enhancing the ef\ufb01ciency of architecture search.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Semblanza:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El Dr. V\u00edctor Adri\u00e1n Sosa Hern\u00e1ndez es director del posgrado en ciencias computacionales en la regi\u00f3n CDMX y profesor del departamento de computaci\u00f3n en el Instituto Tecnol\u00f3gico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey,\u202f campus Estado de M\u00e9xico (ITESM-CEM). V\u00edctor Sosa obtuvo el grado de doctor en ciencias en computaci\u00f3n estudiando en el CINVESTAV-IPN en 2017 y posteriormente en 2018 realiz\u00f3 un posdoctorado en el grupo de Modelos Inteligentes en el ITESM-CEM. Es instructor acreditado y certificado en uso de tecnolog\u00edas de nube por AWS y experto en varios lenguajes de programaci\u00f3n como Python, R, TypeScript, entre otros. El Dr. Sosa es miembro de la Academia Mexicana de Computaci\u00f3n y es reconocido por el SNII como nivel 1 dentro del \u00e1rea 8. Su investigaci\u00f3n tanto te\u00f3rica como aplicada se focaliza en las \u00e1reas de inteligencia artificial, espec\u00edficamente: machine learning, deep learning, NAS y optimizaci\u00f3n evolutiva multiobjetivo. El Dr. Sosa ha tenido participaci\u00f3n en proyectos multidisciplinarios relacionados con el dise\u00f1o de bater\u00edas de litio, consumo eficiente de energ\u00eda de autos el\u00e9ctricos, dise\u00f1o de trayectoria de vuelo de drones, configuraci\u00f3n de biorreactores, y estudio del comportamiento de c\u00e9lulas B en pacientes con COVID-19. Adem\u00e1s, recientemente colidera dentro de su grupo de investigaci\u00f3n un proyecto de Ciencia de frontera otorgado para el periodo 2023-2025 por el CONAHCyT enfocado en AutoML.
